European Heritage Hub Small Grants Scheme (2nd Edition)

The EU-funded European Heritage Hub, with support from the ALIPH Foundation, has launched the second edition of its Small Grants Scheme.

The core mission of the initiative is to empower heritage stakeholders from candidate and neighbouring countries of the European Union to become active protagonists of the wider European heritage movement, thereby enhancing the relationship between these countries and the EU.

Who Can Apply? Civil society organisations (CSOs) from 11 EU candidate and neighbouring countries are eligible:

• Armenia, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Ukraine.

  
  

4 Key Objectives of the Call:

• Building civil society capacity: Empowering heritage-focused civil society initiatives and non-governmental organisations.

• Supporting the triple transformation: Enhancing the key role of cultural heritage in the green, digital, and social transformation.

• Democracy and fundamental values: Strengthening democracy, the rule of law, and fundamental rights and values.

• Peace and stability: Building peace and stability through enhanced intercultural and interreligious dialogue and reconciliation.

3 Regional Strands:

1. Caucasus: Focusing on heritage protection in fragile and diverse contexts.

2. Western Balkans: Focusing on reconciliation, regional cooperation, and social cohesion.

3. Ukraine and Moldova: Focusing on capacity-building and pilot initiatives supporting emergency response, recovery, and resilience of the heritage sector.

Funding Amounts: The Scheme provides flexible funding for civil society-led projects across two grant tiers:

• Small Grants: Up to €10,000

• Medium Grants: Ranging from €10,000 to €25,000

  
  

How to Apply (2-Step Process): Applications must be submitted in English exclusively via the Good Grants online platform.

• Step 1: Eligibility Assessment

  • 📅 Deadline: 7 September 2026

  • This initial check verifies legal status, financial capacity, and project alignment with the grant criteria as outlined in the Call for Applications. Only applicants who pass this stage will be invited to submit a full proposal.

• Step 2: Full Application

  • 📅 Deadline: 20 September 2026

  • Applicants who pass Stage 1 will receive a region-specific link to submit their full proposal and budget form online.

Important Rules & Guidelines:

• Applications must be written and submitted strictly in English.

• Organisations that are part of the European Heritage Hub consortium or hold a governing role within them (e.g., Board members) are ineligible to apply.

• Applications may be re-submitted only once upon request, specifically to provide required additional information or an adapted text.

• By submitting an application, applicants agree to data processing in accordance with Europa Nostra's Privacy Policy.
